ANF Cracks Down on Drug Smuggling Operations, Seizes 451 Kilograms of Narcotics

Cases have been registered against the arrested individuals under the Anti-Narcotics Act, ANF spokesperson

Islamabad: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) continues its relentless efforts against drug smuggling, with a series of operations resulting in the seizure of 451 kilograms of narcotics and the arrest of 17 individuals.

According to an ANF spokesperson, a parcel containing 5.2 kilograms of ice was intercepted at a courier office in Lahore, intended for delivery to Japan. Additionally, 450 grams of ice were seized from a passenger at Multan Airport bound for Doha.

The spokesperson further disclosed that a parcel destined for the UK, containing 66 grams of weed, was intercepted at a courier office in Rawalpindi. In another operation, 220 kilograms of charas were seized from a location in Roghani Road, Chaman. Moreover, in Shalimar Town, Lahore, 195.6 kilograms of opium were recovered from four suspects, including women.

In separate operations near Turkey Toll Plaza, Sohawa, four individuals were apprehended with 15.6 kilograms of charas. Near Toll Plaza, Islamabad, another suspect was arrested with 7 kilograms of charas, while in Marri Road, Rawalpindi, 2.4 kilograms of charas were seized from a suspect.

According to the ANF spokesperson, cases have been registered against the arrested individuals under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and investigations have been initiated.
