Ambassador of Pakistan Concludes Productive Visit to Inner Mongolia, Strengthens Bilateral Cooperation
BEIJING – Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, concluded a successful orientation visit to the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on August 6, aimed at bolstering bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors under the Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.
During his visit, Ambassador Hashmi held a key meeting with Governor Wang Lixia, discussing potential collaboration in renewable energy, livestock development, ecological restoration, and people-to-people ties. He also met with senior officials from the Foreign Affairs Office to follow up on initiatives discussed with the Governor.
As part of his engagement with the local business community, the Ambassador chaired two business-to-business (B2B) roundtables with leading Inner Mongolian enterprises from the mining, refining, agriculture, and livestock sectors. He outlined Pakistan’s investment policies and invited businesses to participate in the upcoming Pakistan-China B2B Investment Conference in Beijing this September, coinciding with the Prime Minister’s expected visit.
The Ambassador also visited key institutions, including Honder College of Arts and Sciences, the Inner Mongolia Museum, and the Yili Group’s dairy facilities. At Honder College, he paid tribute to Pakistan-China ties at the “Masood Khan Hall” and explored areas for enhanced academic and cultural exchange.

In line with Pakistan’s green development goals, Ambassador Hashmi observed innovative desertification control projects, including efforts by Mengcao Company in restoring degraded lands. He emphasized the importance of learning from China’s ecological advancements to support Pakistan’s climate resilience initiatives.
Concluding his visit, the Ambassador praised Inner Mongolia’s development under China’s vision of Ecological Civilization and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening regional and sectoral cooperation within the broader strategic partnership with China.
