Ambassador Hashmi Meets Producer of Pak-China Film "Batie Girl"

Beijing: Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, visited the Taihe Institute on Sunday for a comprehensive exchange of views with the institute’s Chairman, Peng Binge, and President of the China Public Diplomacy Association, Wu Hailong. The discussion focused on the importance of the Pak-China relationship in the new era and ways to further strengthen their “iron brotherhood.”
During the visit, Ambassador Hashmi also engaged in a productive dialogue with senior research fellows on various aspects of the bilateral relationship. Senior diplomats from the Pakistan Embassy and officials from the Taihe Institute were also present.
In another significant engagement, Ambassador Hashmi met with Xie Peng, the producer of Batie Girl, the first-ever Pak-China feature film. The meeting focused on leveraging cinema to amplify the public appreciation of the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China.
Separately, Ambassador Hashmi received Ms. Amanda Cheng, country head of Habib Bank China, and her team at the Pakistan Embassy in Beijing. Ms. Cheng briefed the ambassador on HBL China’s performance in 2024. The discussions centered around proposals to enhance economic ties between the two countries, with a focus on investment-led B2B matchmaking roadshows in priority sectors.
