Ambassador Amna Baloch Takes Over as Pakistan’s 33rd Foreign Secretary
Veteran Diplomat Succeeds Syrus Sajjad Qazi Upon His Retirement
Islamabad-Ambassador Amna Baloch took over as the 33rd Foreign Secretary of Pakistan, succeeding Ambassador Syrus Sajjad Qazi, who retired from the position.
A seasoned diplomat, Ambassador Baloch has a distinguished record with numerous significant roles, both in Islamabad and at various Pakistani diplomatic missions overseas.
Ambassador Amna Baloch’s notable career includes serving as Pakistan’s Consul General in Chengdu, China from 2014 to 2017, High Commissioner to Malaysia from 2019 to 2023, and Ambassador to the European Union, Belgium, and Luxembourg from 2023 to 2024.
With a Master’s degree in History, Amna Baloch has been a member of the Foreign Services of Pakistan since 1991.
