Allegations of “False Flag” Operation and Increased Atrocities Following Pahalgam Attack

Srinagar/New Delhi – Allegations of a “false flag” operation surrounding the recent Pahalgam attack have emerged, accompanied by claims of increased Indian Army atrocities against Kashmiri Muslims. Mehbooba Mufti, President of the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has publicly accused the Modi government of orchestrating the attack to justify a crackdown on the Kashmiri population.

Mufti and local sources allege that following the Pahalgam incident, the Indian Army has intensified its operations, resulting in arrests, killings, and the destruction of homes. Mufti further claims that unarmed Kashmiri Muslims are being labeled as terrorists and subjected to brutal killings. She cited the recovery of Imtiaz Mughrey’s body from a river in Kulgam, alleging he was abducted by the Indian Army two days prior. Similar incidents of targeted killings were reported in Bandipora and other areas.

Mufti has called for a “complete and impartial investigation” into the Pahalgam attack, asserting it was a deliberate move by the Modi government against the Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir. Defense experts and some Indian citizens have also raised concerns, questioning the security lapses that allowed the attack to occur.

Meenakshi Bali, an Indian Hindu woman, publicly stated that the Pahalgam attack was a “planned false flag operation” designed to divert attention from domestic issues, particularly ahead of the Bihar elections. She and others have accused the government of using the incident to incite anti-Muslim sentiment and consolidate the Hindu vote bank.

Critics have also highlighted the alleged failure of Indian intelligence agencies and security forces, questioning how attackers could penetrate heavily secured areas and subsequently escape. They demand accountability and transparency from the Modi government, urging them to address the concerns of the Indian public rather than accusing Pakistan.

The Modi government has faced severe criticism over the alleged intelligence and security failures surrounding the Pahalgam attack, with voices both within India and internationally calling for a thorough and independent investigation.
