Ali Zafar urges peace after explosions near his Lahore home

“This region, and the world at large, has billions of lives depending on peace,” he concluded.

ISLAMABAD: Renowned Pakistani singer and actor Ali Zafar took to social media to share a deeply concerning experience: hearing loud explosions near his home in Lahore.

Posting on his X (formerly Twitter) account, the artist expressed alarm at the rising tensions in the region and urged both nations to step back from the brink of war.

“We just heard explosions near our house,” he wrote. “To those cheering for war, celebrating violence, and pushing for further conflict — do you truly understand what war between two nuclear powers means?”

Ali Zafar, known for his successful career in both Lollywood and Bollywood, used his platform to advocate for peace. Emphasizing that war is not entertainment, he said, “This isn’t a movie. War is devastation. Children, innocent lives, and families bear the heavy cost of war. The world needs to wake up. We need peace, not theatrics. Every life is precious. Every nation deserves security.”

He called on the international community to act swiftly and decisively to prevent further escalation. “The only real solution is dialogue,” he stressed. “Talk. Listen. Resolve. This madness must stop.”

“This region, and the world at large, has billions of lives depending on peace,” he concluded.

Ali Zafar’s message resonates with his mother Kanwal Amin’s sentiment, as she, too, has reflected on the cost of violence and regretted the rising culture of warmongering.
