Ali Amin Gandapur Stands Firm: Will March to D-Chowk, Even if Alone

Gandapur pledges to proceed with the protest despite government clampdown.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has declared that he will proceed to D-Chowk regardless of the circumstances, even if he has to go alone. He emphasized that anyone engaging in violence will bear the responsibility for the consequences, adding that he does not have the authority to call off the protest.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has scheduled a protest at D-Chowk in Islamabad today, and the government has finalized its security measures in response. All routes leading to the capital have been blocked with containers, private schools are closed, Metrobus service is suspended, and over 400 PTI members, including 60 Afghans, have been arrested.

In this context, Gandapur affirmed that their preparations are complete, and the protest is intended to be peaceful. Should any violence be used against them, the responsibility will fall on those who initiate it.

He also reiterated that the directives of PTI founder Imran Khan are non-negotiable for him, stating that there is no need to consult him regarding the protest since he does not have the authority to cancel it—that power lies solely with Imran Khan.
