Aleema Khan Denies Political Deal Involving Imran Khan, Says No Talks with PML-N

Aleema Protests Visitation Denial Despite Court Order

RAWALPINDI – Aleema Khan, sister of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, firmly denied reports suggesting that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman is involved in any political deal. Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail on Tuesday, she said Imran Khan had categorically ruled out any dialogue with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), asserting that no such discussions were taking place.

Aleema stated that her brother had made three clear points, most notably rejecting reconciliation with the PML-N, which he accused of destroying the country’s moral fabric. “There can be no talks with those who have eroded national values,” she quoted Imran Khan as saying.

She further emphasized that Imran Khan had reiterated his commitment to national interest and the principle of Amr bil Ma’ruf (enjoining good), stressing that if any talks were ever to occur, they would be solely for the greater good of Pakistan. According to her, the former prime minister believes individuals who benefited from previous NROs (National Reconciliation Ordinances) cannot be trusted.

Aleema also raised concerns over being denied visitation rights despite a court order, revealing that she had only been allowed to meet her brother once in the past nine weeks. She warned that if the authorities continued to block family meetings, she and others would not leave the jail premises.

She also alleged that Imran Khan refused to meet PTI lawyer Faisal Chaudhry, reportedly suspecting that he had been sent by the establishment. “He will not meet anyone sent through such channels,” she said.

Meanwhile, Imran Khan’s sisters Uzma and Noreen Khan were allowed to meet him, along with former First Lady Bushra Bibi, who received visits from her daughter Mubashra Shaikh and sister-in-law Mehrunnisa. Other family members, including Aleema Khan, cousin Qasim Zaman Khan, and Muhammad Shaikh, were denied access.

Separately, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and senior leaders Salman Akram Raja and Ali Zafar were permitted to meet Imran Khan. After the meetings, all party members and family representatives departed from Adiala Jail.
