AJK PM Launches 5 Billion Rupees Endowment Fund for Needy Citizens

The Prime Minister’s commitment to the well-being of citizens extended to healthcare.

ISLAMABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar Haq in a significant move towards establishing a welfare state has announced the creation of a 5 billion rupees endowment fund. This fund aims to support destitute men and women without heirs, including disabled individuals, orphans, widowed women, and elderly citizens.

During discussions with a delegation led by Chairman Saeed Abbasi and President Ashraf Abbasi at Jammu Kashmir House Islamabad, Prime Minister Haq highlighted the essence of the welfare state concept. The endowment fund is designed to provide a monthly allowance of twenty thousand rupees to those in need, delivering the assistance directly to their homes.

The Prime Minister’s commitment to the well-being of citizens extended to healthcare. He directed the provision of free treatment and medicines for special individuals in every district hospital, ensuring the best medical facilities are accessible to the people.

Emphasizing the importance of education and healthcare for special individuals, Prime Minister Haq declared a zero-tolerance policy towards any deficiencies in these facilities. He underscored the integral role of special people in society, stating that society is incomplete without their active participation.

The delegation, comprising six members including Major (retd) Mehmood, Rukhsana Mir, Malik Akhtar, Mohsin Awan, Chairman Saeed Abbasi, and President Ashraf Abbasi, received assurance from the Prime Minister regarding the comprehensive support through the newly established endowment fund.

Principal Secretary Zafar Mehmood Khan, present during the discussions, witnessed the Prime Minister’s commitment to creating a welfare state that caters to the needs of the marginalized, emphasizing the inclusion of special people in all facets of society.
