Aitzaz Ahsan criticizes PML-N and government over article 6 use

Responding to questions about the ban on PTI, Ahsan said, “The decision should not be taken by the government but by the Supreme Court.
Islamabad: Renowned jurist and senior political leader Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan has criticized the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the government’s approach to using Article 6, asserting that political parties do not end with bans.
In various TV interviews, Ahsan emphasized that Article 6, a serious legal provision, should not be misused. “Article 6 is not a child’s toy. It cannot be imposed on everyone. If it should be applied, it should be on the Election Commission and the government. The Chief Election Commissioner should be handcuffed,” he stated.
Ahsan further accused PML-N leaders, including Nawaz Sharif, of political failures. “All the League ministers are losers. If Form 45 is opened, they are dead. PML-N is scared because it stands on Form 47. Nawaz Sharif has made Imran Khan 100 feet tall and it will carry him up to 200 feet more,” he claimed.
Responding to questions about the ban on PTI, Ahsan said, “The decision should not be taken by the government but by the Supreme Court. The full court will sit on the revision appeal against the special seats. The Supreme Court will not take much time to decide. The government will have to present evidence.”

Ahsan also highlighted the competence within PML-N, expressing surprise at their current actions. “PML-N has very capable people, but someone is misleading the government. This is being done because PTI leaders are getting acquitted in cases. It is a very stupid person who has suggested filing this reference,” he remarked.
Prominent lawyers share Ahsan’s concerns, advising that the government’s approach might backfire and lead to further political complications.
