Afridi Backs Haris Promotion as Bangladesh Outclass Hong Kong
Chasing a target of 144, Bangladesh reached the mark in 17.4 overs, finishing at 144 for 3, with 14 balls to spare.
DUBAI – Former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Khan Afridi has emphasized the need to promote Mohammad Haris in the batting order as Pakistan prepares to face Oman in their next Men’s T20 Asia Cup fixture today.
Speaking ahead of the match, Afridi stated:
“Pakistan need to bat first against Oman. Haris should be given a more prominent role in the batting order.”
Afridi also offered strategic advice regarding the highly anticipated Pakistan-India clash scheduled for Sunday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. He suggested that Pakistan should field the same playing XI against Oman that they plan to use against India, ensuring consistency and preparation.
His comments come as Mohammad Haris, 24, continues to struggle with the bat, having scored only 54 runs in 11 innings—a performance that has raised concerns ahead of crucial encounters.
