The Afghanistan tour will begin shortly after the conclusion of this year’s Indian Premier League, which ends on May 31. The IPL, widely regarded as the world’s most lucrative T20 competition, features several global cricket stars, including players from Afghanistan.
Historically, Afghanistan used India as a cricketing base due to political and security challenges at home before relocating operations to the United Arab Emirates. The team recently exited the ongoing T20 World Cup, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, during the group stage.
