Adiala Jail Superintendent Rejects Claims, Says Imran Khan Enjoys Exceptional Privileges
Addressing circulating social media rumors about the PTI founder’s health and treatment, Anjum dismissed the claims as baseless.
Islamabad — Superintendent of Adiala Jail, Abdul Ghafoor Anjum, has categorically rejected recent allegations regarding the treatment of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan inside the jail. In a detailed statement released on Tuesday, Anjum emphasized that Imran Khan is enjoying privileges far beyond those typically granted to B-class prisoners.
According to the Superintendent, Imran Khan has full access to all standard B-class facilities, including meals prepared by a designated inmate cook according to his preferences, health services, personal books, daily newspapers, and an exercise bike. Additionally, he has been allotted a complex comprising seven cells and an open courtyard for walking.
Anjum further revealed that the PTI leader has an LED television in his cell and maintains active communication with both national and international media outlets. Highlighting Imran Khan’s media presence, Anjum noted that during the past year alone, his statements have been featured in headlines on 45 different occasions through interviews with prominent outlets such as Fox News, The Wall Street Journal, ITV, Reuters, and The Telegraph.
Remarkably, the Superintendent disclosed that Imran Khan has posted 413 tweets during his imprisonment. Many of these tweets included direct instructions to party workers regarding political mobilization, including the November 26 protests, Sambrial by-elections, and ongoing negotiations with the government. He has also used social media to issue guidance on constitutional matters, including the 26th Amendment.
Anjum maintained that no other B-class prisoner has been granted such comprehensive facilities or access. “The level of amenities provided to Imran Khan surpasses that of any other B-class inmate,” he said.

Addressing circulating social media rumors about the PTI founder’s health and treatment, Anjum dismissed the claims as baseless. “There is no truth in reports of deteriorating health or mistreatment. Such stories are being spread for cheap fame and sensationalism,” he stated firmly.
He concluded by reaffirming that Imran Khan enjoys more privileges than any other prisoner in Adiala Jail, and that no discriminatory treatment is being meted out.
