Islamabad: Additional 6 Mn Gallons Water be Provided says Chairman CDA. An important meeting regarding water management was held at CDA headquarters on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chaudhary Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The Meeting was attended by the senior officers of Water Supply Wing.
Chairman CDA issue the direction to keeping in mind the needs of the citizens in summer an additional 6 million gallons of water should be provided to the citizens daily from Simli Dam. Similarly, the duration of water supply should be increased in densely populated sectors and areas. Chairman CDA issued the direction and further said that the leave of all the staff of the water supply wing should be cancelled. Similarly, the tanker service should also be kept on high alert round the clock and all the complaints of leakages in the pipelines should also be eliminated immediately.
Chairman CDA further said that long-term solutions should be introduced to solve water problems. Instructions were also given for immediate work on Shahdara, Tarbela, Chiniot and Khanpur dams so that the water problem can be solved on a permanent basis.
Chairman CDA expressed his anger over the theft of 40% water from Khanpur Dam to Sangjani Plant Canal. While giving a briefing, they were told that the control of the canal is under the authority of each province. Earlier this was the responsibility of WAPDA. Chairman CDA while issuing instructions said that a proposal should be made and submitted in this regard so that a solution to this problem can be found by talking with WAPDA and other organizations including.
Chairman CDA while appreciating the performance of the water supply wing said that the staff of the water supply wing should continue with the hard work and dedication so that the citizens do not have to face water problems.
Chairman CDA further said that a proposal should be submitted within three days regarding the installation of solar system at water pumping stations so that the huge amount used for energy can be used in other development works of the city.
Chairman CDA while issuing instructions further said that all the filtration plants should be transferred on modern automation system so that the quality of water can be determined with the help of online data and the quantity of water consumption and supply can also be measured. While giving a briefing to Chairman CDA, it was told that the complaints received are being resolved within 24 hours. Similarly, a separate helpline number 03357775444 has also been issued by the Water Supply Department for the convenience of the citizens so that the citizens do not face any kind of difficulties and the problems of the citizens can be solved at their doorsteps. While the duties of the relevant staff of the Water Supply Wing have also been made more strict and orders have been issued to them to stay in the field. Similarly actions should also be taken against those who waste water.
