Islamabad-Secretary Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Amer Ali Ahmad, welcomed a delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) at BISP Headquarters today to review the status of the Integrated Social Protection Development Program (ISPDP) and its Additional Financing program.
The delegation included Ms. Xin Long, Mission Leader and Principal Social Sector Specialist, SG-HSD; Lai Tora, Co-Team Lead, ADB; Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, TA Team Leader/National Social Protection Specialist, SG-HSD; Mr. Dinesh Shiwakoti, PAU Head; and Ms. Huma Ambreen, Project Officer. Additional Secretary BISP, Dr. Tahir Noor, along with all Director Generals, was also present at the meeting.
Discussions focused on ADB’s longstanding collaboration with BISP since 2013 and the progress of various social protection initiatives.
The delegation was informed about the progress of projects. Secretary BISP acknowledged ADB’s continued support in strengthening Pakistan’s social safety net as well as its instrumental role in creating a positive impact for millions of vulnerable households. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to inclusive growth and expressed readiness to explore further cooperation in advancing social protection efforts across the country. refin
