Petition Filed against Doctor’s Strike in Lahore High Court
LAHORE:– The ongoing strike of doctors in government hospitals has been challenged in the Lahore High Court by citizen Mazhar Abbas.
Filed through Advocate Safdar Shaheen, the petition argues that the doctors’ strike, which began on June 15 following a fire incident at Sahiwal Teaching Hospital, is unjustly impacting patient care. The Young Doctors Association (YDA) initiated the strike in response to the detainment of doctors due to the incident.

The petitioner contends that the strike is causing patients to be transferred between hospitals, disrupting medical services. Despite being paid from the public treasury, striking doctors are failing to fulfill their duties, thus exacerbating the suffering of patients.
The petition urges the High Court to direct the Young Doctors Association to immediately end the strike and resume their medical duties.
