Achakzai urges PM to update parliament on Afghan war, region
Opposition urges Prime Minister to brief entire Parliament on Pakistan-Afghanistan tensions, calling for transparency amid rising regional security concerns.
Opposition Leader Mahmood Achakzai – (Web Desk) – Opposition Leader Mahmood Achakzai has responded to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s invitation for a private briefing, insisting that the entire Parliament should be informed about the regional situation and tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
Achakzai emphasized that security updates should be shared with all lawmakers, not just selected members.
Achakzai said, “Opposition was told to make this point there in front of the Prime Minister. I said that we will consult with my colleagues”.
Achakzai said It would be better to give the briefing in a joint session of Parliament or at least in the Senate.

The situation in the region is dangerous. Parliament should be taken into confidence.
Achakzai said that the government will be informed about the decision tomorrow morning.
