Abrar Ahmed & Saud Shakeel Fined for Breaching Code of Conduct in HBL PSL 9 Match
Karachi: In a recent HBL PSL 9 fixture between Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi, Quetta Gladiators’ players Abrar Ahmed and Saud Shakeel have been fined for breaching the code of conduct.
Abrar Ahmed and Saud Shakeel, representing Quetta Gladiators, were fined five percent of their match fees for Level 1 breaches of the HBL PSL’s code of conduct.
Abrar Ahmed was found to have violated Article 2.4 of the HBL PSL Code of Conduct, disobeying an umpire’s instruction during the match. This occurred in the 19th over of Islamabad United’s batting, when Abrar, while fielding, rolled the ball all along the ground despite being instructed otherwise by the umpires.
In a separate incident during the same match, Saud Shakeel was found to have breached Article 2.5 of the HBL PSL Code of Conduct. He was charged for using language, actions, or gestures disparaging to the batter Salman Ali Agha, which could have provoked an aggressive reaction. This incident occurred after Saud dismissed Salman Ali Agha in the 12th over.
Both players pleaded guilty to the charges and accepted the sanctions proposed by match referee Mohammad Javed. The charges were imposed by on-field umpires Ahsan Raza and Chris Gaffaney.
