Abhishek Bachchan Rejects Marriage Rumours

MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan has finally addressed persistent rumours surrounding his marriage to superstar Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, clarifying that their teenage daughter Aaradhya remains completely unaware of the speculation.

Speaking to Peeping Moon in a recent interview, Abhishek said that 14-year-old Aaradhya stays protected from gossip simply because she is not active online—unlike most teens her age.

When asked whether Aaradhya knows about the rumours circulating about her parents, Abhishek replied:
“I hope not. She’s a very mature girl. She’s wonderful, and her mother has done a wonderful job. She doesn’t have a phone; she’s 14. If her friends want to reach her, they call her mother’s phone. That’s something we decided long ago.”

The actor added that although Aaradhya has access to the internet, she is far more focused on her studies than celebrity chatter.
“She loves school. I don’t think she would Google our names or believe everything she reads. Her mother has taught her that well. We are very honest within the family, so there’s never been a situation where anyone needs to hide anything.”

Abhishek dismissed all talk of marital trouble as “rubbish, vicious, and incorrect,” reaffirming that the stories are fabricated. Aishwarya Rai also recently clarified at the Red Sea Film Festival that Aaradhya is not on social media.

Aishwarya and Abhishek fell in love while working on Umrao Jaan (2006) and Guru (2007). The couple married in a private ceremony in April 2007 and welcomed their daughter in 2011.

Rumours of tension resurfaced in 2024 after the couple arrived separately for Anant Ambani’s high-profile wedding festivities, prompting renewed speculation about their relationship.

On the professional front, Aishwarya was last seen in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan films, while Abhishek appeared in Be Happy, Housefull 5, and Kaalidhar Laapata. He is next set to star in King.
