Pakistan U19 Crush New Zealand by Eight Wickets in Harare

Harare: (Web Desk) – Pakistan U19 delivered a dominant performance to beat New Zealand U19 by eight wickets in their Super Six Group 2 fixture of the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup at Harare Sports Club on Tuesday.

Winning the toss and opting to field, Pakistan’s bowlers restricted New Zealand to 110 all out in 28.3 overs, with five maiden overs bowled—three by Abdul Subhan and two by Ali Raza. Right-arm fast bowler Abdul Subhan shone with figures of 4-11, earning Player of the Match, while Ali Raza’s 3-36 kept the pressure on throughout the innings.

New Zealand’s only notable resistance came from Hugo Bogue, who scored 39 off 27 balls. Despite this, regular wickets left New Zealand struggling, sliding from 59/1 to 67/7, unable to build any significant partnerships.

In reply, Pakistan chased the modest target comfortably in 17.1 overs, losing just two wickets. Opening batter Sameer Minhas anchored the innings with an unbeaten 76 off 59 balls, featuring 10 fours and two sixes. He first steadied the innings after the early dismissal of wicketkeeper-batter Hamza Zahoor (8) and later shared a 67-run partnership with Usman Khan (15) for the second wicket, sealing the win with ease.
