Tajik Cultural Troupe to Visit Pakistan for Eight Days

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan held a meeting with the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Pakistan, Sharifzoda Yusuf Toir, to discuss the upcoming visit of a Tajik cultural troupe to Pakistan on the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

During the meeting, the ambassador briefed the minister on the details of the eight-day visit of the Tajik cultural delegation. Abdul Aleem Khan welcomed the exchange of cultural delegations between Pakistan and Tajikistan, describing it as a positive step toward strengthening bilateral relations. He said both countries share a rich cultural heritage and expressed Pakistan’s pleasure in hosting the Tajik artists.

According to the details, the Tajik cultural troupe, comprising musicians, instrumentalists, and traditional dance performers, will visit Pakistan for eight days. Ambassador Sharifzoda Yusuf Toir informed that the delegation will stay in Islamabad for six days and in Lahore for two days. He remarked that Pakistan is like a second home for Tajikistan and praised the hospitality extended by the Pakistani people.

The meeting also included discussions on Abdul Aleem Khan’s recent visit to Tajikistan, as well as broader talks on enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries. The ambassador noted that this would be the largest cultural delegation from Tajikistan to visit Pakistan, and the biggest such visit by any Islamic country.

Ambassador Sharifzoda also briefed the minister on the planned activities of the cultural troupe. He conversed with Abdul Aleem Khan in Urdu, which the federal minister appreciated, saying that the ambassador’s command of the Urdu language reflected his affection for Pakistan.

The Prime Minister has accorded state guest status to the 75-member Tajik cultural delegation. The troupe will perform in Islamabad and Lahore from December 16 to December 24. Tajik Minister and former Deputy Prime Minister Matlubkhon Sattoriyon will also accompany the cultural delegation during the visit.
