Karachi Circular Railway Revival and New Train Service Announced

Sindh—(Special Correspondent/Web Desk)—Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has urged the provincial government and Pakistan Railways to work together on reviving the Karachi Circular Railway (KCR). He highlighted that this project is a top priority and has already faced unnecessary delays.

During a meeting with Federal Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi, the Chief Minister suggested outsourcing operations to improve service quality and efficiency for passengers.

Shah also stressed the importance of upgrading the Karachi-to-Rohri rail line. He said running frequent trains on this route would provide major relief to daily commuters.

Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi announced the launch of a new passenger train service from Karachi to Sukkur, with an investment of Rs 6 billion. He confirmed that all rail tracks across Karachi will be replaced with new lines. Abbasi also assured that the Karachi-to-Rohri train will feature modern facilities, including fully air-conditioned coaches for a comfortable journey.

The meeting further decided to remove encroachments along railway tracks to speed up the development of these important projects.
