MUMBAI: (Showbiz Desk) – Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has responded to allegations surrounding his marriages, clarifying that his third wife, Gauri Spratt, is a Christian after facing criticism and reported death threats linked to accusations of promoting “Love Jihad.”

According to Indian media reports, Maharashtra minister Nitesh Rane described Aamir Khan as the “brand ambassador of Love Jihad” over his marriages. The remarks were later echoed by Ayodhya-based Hindu religious figure Jagadguru Paramhans Acharya, who accused the actor of encouraging the controversial concept through his relationships.

Media reports also claimed that the religious leader announced a cash reward of ₹50 million (5 crore) for anyone who kills the actor and said legal expenses for the accused would be covered. Authorities have not publicly confirmed any legal action regarding the reported threat.

In a recent interview, Aamir Khan rejected the allegations and clarified that his current wife, Gauri Spratt, is a Christian rather than a Hindu.

The actor also said that his previous wives, Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao, never converted to Islam during their marriages, explaining that all of his marriages were conducted under civil law.

Highlighting his family’s diverse background, Aamir said his sisters married Hindu men, his cousin Mansoor married a Christian woman and his daughter also married a Hindu man, emphasizing that mutual respect for different faiths has always been part of his family.

Aamir Khan married Reena Dutta in 1986, and the couple divorced in 2002. He later married filmmaker Kiran Rao in 2005 before separating in 2021. He is now married to Gauri Spratt.
