
A New EU Ambassador Starts Their Term in Islamabad.
A seasoned diplomat with decades of experience in international relations and trade begins his new role.
EU – Pakistan – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) -The European Union has named a new ambassador to Pakistan. His name is Raimundas Karoblis. He officially started his new role on September 10th by meeting with Pakistan’s President. He takes over from the previous EU ambassador, Dr. Riina Kionka.
Ambassador Karoblis brings over thirty years of experience in diplomacy, trade, and security. Right before this new job, he was the EU’s ambassador to Tajikistan. He has also held very important roles for his home country, Lithuania. These jobs included being a Deputy Foreign Minister and his country’s main representative to the EU.
He even served as Lithuania’s Minister of National Defence for four years. Ambassador Karoblis is a law graduate and speaks several languages, including English, French, and Russian. When he is not working, he loves to go cycling and hiking and enjoys cultural events.

The EU is a crucial trading partner for Pakistan. It is their second-largest market. A special deal called GSP+ lets Pakistan export many goods to Europe with low or no taxes, which helps the economy.
