PCB chief likely to get extension,
Islamabad_Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has said that a decision regarding Zaka Ashraf’s future as the Pakistan Cricket Board chief would be taken after the World Cup.
“You know a tournament is under way and we will see what needs to be done on this issue after the tournament is over,” he said during an interview on Dawn News show InFocus on Friday.
Responding to a question regarding yesterday’s meeting with former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi, he said that it was just a social meeting.
It is pertinent to mention that Ashraf’s tenure as the chairman of the PCB Interim Management Committee is ending on November 5.
As patron of the PCB, the prime minister has to decide whether to replace Ashraf or retain him, as the four-month tenure of the incumbent chairman is ending on the said date.

Earlier today, the former captain arrived at the Qaddafi Stadium in Lahore to meet the PCB chief.
During the meeting, Afridi refused to take up any role in the PCB Management Committee.
