The Attock Jail authorities have informed a Civil Court in Islamabad that they could not produce former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan in his illegal Nikah case,

During the previous hearing of the case on September 21, Civil Judge Qudrat Ullah issued a summons for the PTI chairman, directing the jail authorities to present him in court on September 25.

However, the superintendent of Attock Jail wrote a letter to the judge informing him that he could not bring the former premier Imran Khan out of the prison, citing security threats.

The superintendent wrote that Imran Khan was incarcerated in Attock Jail in the cipher case which was registered under the Official Secrets Act and Special Court Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain was holding his trial in the jail.

“We will take security risk if we move Imran out of jail. Any mishap may happen in the ensuing journey from Attock to Islamabad,” the superintendent wrote, pleading further with the court to exempt the PTI chairman from court appearance.
