The hero and founder of the Kashmir Freedom Movement, President Ghazi Millat, Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim, was born in Horna Meera village of Poonch district, this great man of mujahid lived his full political life. It was testifying that today we have lost a great Kashmiri leader and Kashmiris have become orphans. A chapter of the movement of Kashmiris for independence and accession to Pakistan, freedom, thought, and vision has ended. Ghazi Millat Sardar Ibrahim passed his matriculation examination in 1933 with distinction, after which he entered Government Islamia College, Lahore for higher education. In 1938, he went to London to obtain his law degree. In 1941-42, he became a bar at law.
The government of Maharaja Hari Singh appointed him as the Government Advocate General. The destination of the Kashmiris was determined after getting approved. Ghazi Millat Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan was the President of Azad Kashmir in 1947, 1957, 1975, and 1996. He has also won the honor of being the youngest and oldest president of Azad Kashmir. Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan spent 57 years in the field of politics. Ghazi Millat Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan was also the author of two books. Kashmir Saga and Mutaa-i-Zindga are the works of Sardar Ibrahim Khan. Ghazi Millat continued to struggle for the freedom of Kashmir all his life, when India presented the issue of Kashmir in the United Nations, Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan presented the position of the Kashmiri people comprehensively. He visited several countries to highlight the Kashmir issue.
His services in the Kashmir struggle will always be remembered as a fearless leader. Zia-ul-Haq, Ms. Benazir Bhutto, Mian Nawaz Sharif and General Pervez Musharraf were the presidents of Azad Kashmir. Ghazi Millat Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan always talked about democracy. You have never played the role of an opportunistic politician. He never put the country’s interest at stake for the sake of personal interests. One of the many qualities of Ghazi Millat Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan was that he always stood firm on what he believed to be right. He showed courage by disagreeing with the top leadership several times. Ghazi Millat Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan for the first time called Kashmir the most beautiful region in Asia. He wanted the main highways of Kashmir to be constructed so that people from all over the world would come to Kashmir and become a center for tourists from all over the world. Ghazi Millat Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan was also a unique politician regarding Azad Kashmir, despite being in politics for six decades, he was not accused of corruption.
Ghazi Millat Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan left us and with that, a brilliant chapter of history came to an end. He was a history-maker. The role of Ghazi Millat was higher, he was a great leader. He had no second in the matter of honesty and trust. He held a prominent position among the politicians of the independent state of Jammu and Kashmir. He was the only person in the region whose trust and honesty cannot be questioned. Ghazi Millat gave the people of the independent region the right to vote. Ghazi Millat Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan was an eminent personality and a benefactor of the entire Kashmiri nation. Ghazi Millat did not believe in regionalism or communalism.
