Rawalpindi: (Staff Reporter) SKANS International Islamic School Senior Westridge Campus hosted its first Inter-School Taekwondo Championship on Wednesday, February 8th, 2023. Over 70 students from eight schools across Rawalpindi participated under two age categories 6-11 years and 12-14 years. Ms. Bushra Nadir, Principal, SIIS Senior campus addressed the gathering and declared the meet open.
According to the source, Mr. Mehmood Shah Kazmi (President of Islamabad Taekwondo Association) was the Chief Guest of this Championship. A set of experienced referees were present to officiate the matches. After a tough series of fighting bouts, SIIS Senior Westridge Campus was declared the winner. First Runner-up trophy was bagged by Kids Kare School Misrial Road.
As per details the Second Runner-up trophy was shared by The Educators School system Peshawar Road Campus. Taekwondo display by hosted school students was feast to the eyes. The teams held their respective trophies with great pride and expressed their continued commitment for the sport.
Furthermore the event culminated with a valedictory ceremony where all the participants received a participation certificate. Winners and runners-up received their certificates and trophies. The coaches and referees were also felicitated for their contribution.
