Judicial Commission confirms 11 LHC Additional Judges out of 13
Lahore;(WebDesk)_A meeting of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) under the chairmanship of the Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Atta Bandial on the matter of the permanency of 13 Additional Judges of Lahore High Court (LHC) was held Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The meeting recommended the permanent appointment of 11 out of 13 Additional Judges of LHC while discharging the remaining two.
Those who were recommended to become a permanent part of the LHC include Justice Shakeel Ahmed, Justice Safdar Saleem Shahid, Justice Ahmed Nadeem Arshad, Justice Mohammad Tariq Nadeem, Justice Mohammad Amjad Rafiq, Justice Abid Hussain Chatha, Justice Anwar Hussain, Justice Ali Zia Bajwa, Justice Sultan Tanveer, Justice Muhammad Raza Qureshi and Justice Raheel Kamran Sheikh.
While Justice Sohail Nasir and Justice Muhammad Shan Gul failed to get the nod from the JCP
These 13 additional judges of the Lahore High Court were appointed on May 7, 2021 and were given an extension of six months after the fixed term of one year. The fixed term expired on June 6.
Supreme Court Judges Justice Qazi Faiz Isa and Justice Sardar Tariq Masood, Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, senior most judge of LHC Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmed Khan along with other members of the Judicial Commission attended the meeting.
