Salman Ali Agha Hits Century on International Cricket Return
From Test Setback to ODI Century: Salman Ali Agha Strikes Back
Salman scored 107 runs off 90 deliveries, striking 10 fours and one six. The knock marked his fourth century in One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and provided Pakistan with a timely boost in the tournament.
The century carried added significance as it was Salman’s first international appearance since he was sent back to Pakistan following the national team’s defeat in the Lord’s Test against England in August.
The former Pakistan Test captain was among seven players sent home after the defeat. He was subsequently dropped for the second match against England and returned to Pakistan before the third Test.
Salman answered his omission with an outstanding performance against Sri Lanka, demonstrating his batting ability and making a strong statement on his return to the international stage.
His century also helped Pakistan make a positive start to the tri-nation ODI series as the team continued its campaign on home soil.
Pakistan will face England in the second match of the tournament on October 20 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
