Abbas Afridi Captain Leads Pakistan Squad for Hong Kong Sixes
Defending champions Pakistan will face India and the UAE in Pool C as they chase a seventh title in Hong Kong.
Pakistan Cricket Board – (Staff Reporter/Web Desk) – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday named Abbas Afridi captain of the national side for the Hong Kong Sixes. The six-a-side event will be played from October 30 to November 1.
Pakistan will fly to Hong Kong on October 28. All matches will take place at Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground.
The squad includes Abdul Samad, Ahmed Daniyal, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Khawaja Nafay, Muhammad Shahzad and Saad Masood. Together with Abbas Afridi, that makes seven players.
Pakistan are the defending champions. They beat Kuwait in last year’s final to win a record sixth title.
Twelve teams will play in four pools of three. Pakistan are in Pool C with India and the UAE.

Pool A has Australia, Hong Kong, China and England. Pool B has Bangladesh, Scotland and Sri Lanka. Pool D has South Africa, Oman and Afghanistan.
Pakistan start against the UAE at 7:35am PST on October 30. They then play India at 11:15am the same day.
The group games end on October 31. The knockout rounds also begin that day.
The group winners go to the Cup semi-finals. The second-placed teams play in the Plate, and the third-placed teams play in the Bowl.
The finals are on November 1. The Cup final is set for 12:10am PST. The Bowl final is at 10:20am and the Plate final at 11:15am.
