HEC Announces Major Salary Increase for University Professors
University Professors to Receive Higher Salaries Under Revised HEC Policy
Islamabad: (Staff Reporter) – The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced a significant increase in the monthly salaries of university teachers across Pakistan under the Tenure Track System (TTS).
According to the HEC, the revised salary structure will be applicable from July 1, with the new policy aimed at improving the remuneration of faculty members serving under the tenure track system.
Under the revised structure, the minimum monthly salary of a professor has been fixed at Rs402,000, while the maximum salary will reach Rs712,000.
Similarly, associate professors will receive monthly salaries ranging from Rs370,000 to Rs625,000, while the salary package for assistant professors will range between Rs288,000 and Rs553,000.
The HEC stated that the revised salaries will be paid by universities from their own financial resources. The commission said the new structure will apply to eligible faculty members working under the tenure track system.
