ISLAMABAD: (Staff Reporter) – The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has invited applications from Pakistani researchers and scholars for the Pakistan Research Awards 2026-27 to recognise research excellence and encourage high-impact academic contributions.
The awards will be presented in three categories: Best Researcher, Best Young Researcher and Best Publication. The initiative aims to recognise outstanding academic work, promote intellectual development and encourage research publications that make significant contributions to their respective fields.
The HEC has set October 31 as the deadline for applications. Applicants must not be blacklisted by the commission or have previously received an HEC Research Award. All submitted research must also be free from plagiarism.
Candidates applying in the Best Young Researcher category must be aged 40 or below.
Through the awards, the HEC aims to encourage Pakistani researchers and scholars to produce high-quality research and strengthen the country’s academic and intellectual contributions.
