Tarar Warns PTI Against Disrupting Law and Order in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: (Mudassar Iqbal) – Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has said the government will take firm measures to prevent any attempt to disrupt law and order in the federal capital, as the PTI prepares for its September 27 protest and march towards Islamabad.

Speaking to Geo News, Tarar said the PTI would not be allowed to enter Islamabad in a manner that threatens peace or public order. He maintained that the government would respond firmly to any such attempt.

The minister also criticised the PTI’s record of protests, saying he did not recall the party staging a peaceful demonstration. He urged the party to reconsider its course and warned that violations of law and order would have consequences.

Regarding the detention of Imran Khan’s sisters, Tarar said the arrests were made on the basis of information received by authorities about possible activities that could affect law and order. The sisters—Aleema Khan, Dr Uzma Khan and Noreen Niazi—have been detained under the Maintenance of Public Order law ahead of the PTI’s September 27 protest.

Tarar also questioned whom the government should engage with for political dialogue within the PTI. He criticised Barrister Gohar Ali Khan’s role and questioned the authority of those advocating negotiations with the government.

Meanwhile, Barrister Gohar has said that contacts with relevant people at the federal level are ongoing, while the PTI has maintained that its planned September 27 protest will be peaceful.
