Erdoğan Highlights Importance of Mecca Defence Agreement

Ankara: (News Desk) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said the joint defence agreement involving Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye is an important message to the Islamic world and is expected to produce positive results.

Speaking at a special youth event in Türkiye’s Samsun province on Monday, Erdoğan said encouraging developments were emerging regarding the agreement and expressed confidence that the joint initiative would succeed.

He said Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye had taken a collective step, adding that progress was being made and the effort would deliver positive outcomes.

The Turkish president also said Türkiye was closely monitoring developments in the Strait of Hormuz, warning that serious challenges were being faced not only in the strategic waterway but across several parts of the Gulf region.

Erdoğan reaffirmed Türkiye’s willingness to help the Islamic world overcome its challenges, saying Ankara was continuing its regional efforts to address the situation as quickly as possible.

He stressed that the issue was serious and should not be taken lightly.
