Radio Pakistan Becomes First SOE to Integrate NADRA Pension App

ISLAMABAD: (Staff Reporter) – Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC), commonly known as Radio Pakistan, has become the country’s first public-sector corporation and state-owned enterprise (SOE) to integrate with NADRA’s digital pensioner verification application.

The integration will allow the corporation’s 3,681 pensioners to complete biometric verification remotely, eliminating the need for routine visits to banks or government offices for the verification process.

The development follows another milestone achieved by Radio Pakistan in 2025, when it became the first public-sector corporation to digitize its pension management system. The initiative was carried out under the patronage and supervision of Information and Broadcasting Minister Attaullah Tarar.

PBC Leads Digital Pension Reform

PBC Director General Saeed Ahmed Sheikh spearheaded the latest initiative with the corporation’s in-house IT team.

Rather than relying entirely on external technical support, PBC used its own IT expertise to modernize pension administration and make the process easier for retired employees.

The corporation completed synchronization with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) several months ago. This early coordination allowed its pensioners to access the verification facility as soon as the digital application became operational.

Digital ‘Proof of Life’ Service

The development follows the national launch of NADRA‘s “Proof of Life” verification system in Islamabad on August 20, 2026.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while addressing the launch ceremony, described the biometric and facial verification facility as “a service to humanity.” He said the digital system would benefit millions of pensioners across Pakistan by making verification faster and more convenient.

With the application now operational, Radio Pakistan pensioners can complete the required verification remotely through biometric and facial recognition technology.

The initiative is expected to reduce administrative hurdles for retired employees while supporting the government’s broader push toward digital public services.
