Gaza Rescuers Recover 112 Bodies After Six-Day Search Operation

Gaza: (News Desk) – Civil Defence teams in Gaza say they have recovered the bodies of 112 members of a single family following a 136-hour rescue operation in the Sabra area of southern Gaza.

According to Civil Defence officials, search efforts focused on a residential building belonging to the Al-Husayna family that was destroyed during an Israeli strike while residents were reportedly inside. Rescue workers recovered 112 bodies and human remains, including 40 children, 38 women, and seven people with disabilities.

Operation supervisor Colonel Mohammad Abu Dan said rescuers believe as many as 157 more bodies could still be trapped beneath the rubble. However, recovery efforts have been slowed by the absence of heavy machinery, forcing teams to dig through debris by hand.

He added that reinforced concrete, twisted steel, and the intensity of the explosions complicated the operation, with some victims’ remains severely burned or fragmented. Civil Defence officials have appealed to international organisations to help facilitate the delivery of heavy equipment needed to continue search and recovery efforts.
