Govt Raises Petroleum Levy as Fuel Prices Climb Again
Petroleum Levy Increased to Rs80 Per Litre After Fresh Fuel Price Hike

ISLAMABAD: (Staff Reporter) – The federal government has raised the petroleum levy by another Rs9.64 per litre, pushing the total levy on petrol to Rs80 per litre. Previously, the levy stood at Rs70.36 per litre.
The latest increase comes after a fresh revision in fuel prices announced earlier this week. Petrol prices have been increased by Rs13.18 per litre, taking the new retail price to Rs310.71 per litre, according to an official notification.
Taxes and margins inflate petrol, diesel prices sharply
High-speed diesel (HSD) has also become more expensive, with its price rising by Rs13.80 per litre. The revised rate for diesel now stands at Rs323.30 per litre.
The increase in fuel prices and the petroleum levy is expected to add to transportation costs and inflationary pressure, affecting consumers and businesses across the country.
