Venezuela Earthquake Death Toll Climbs to 3,535 Victims
Venezuela Earthquake Death Toll Reaches 3,535 as Recovery Efforts Continue Nationwide

La Guaira: (Web Desk) – The official death toll from Venezuela’s devastating twin earthquakes has climbed to 3,535, while more than 16,700 people have been injured, according to updated figures released by authorities.
The powerful earthquakes, which struck on June 24, caused widespread destruction across La Guaira state, just north of Caracas. Entire neighborhoods were reduced to rubble, and thousands of people remain unaccounted for following the disaster.
Government officials reported that 16,740 people suffered injuries and more than 17,000 residents have been displaced after losing their homes. Although authorities have not released an official count of those still missing, the United Nations estimates that up to 50,000 people could remain unaccounted for.
Thousands of survivors are currently staying in temporary shelters set up in public parks, parking areas and along city streets as relief operations continue.
With hopes of finding more survivors fading, rescue efforts are gradually giving way to recovery operations focused on clearing debris and burying the victims. International search-and-rescue teams have also started withdrawing from Venezuela after completing their missions.

Meanwhile, families continue searching for missing loved ones, hoping to recover their remains and provide them with a proper burial.
On Sunday, officials began laying dozens of unidentified victims to rest in a mass burial site at La Esperanza Cemetery in La Guaira. Rows of simple white crosses decorated with small bouquets now mark individual graves, each bearing the same date of death—June 24, 2026.
