Judicial Commission Forms Interview Committees for High Court Appointments
The Judicial Commission has directed that all interviews be completed by July 4
ISLAMABAD: (Staff Repoter) – The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) has constituted interview committees to assess candidates for appointment as judges of the country’s high courts, with the process expected to be completed by July 4.
According to an official notification issued after approval by the Chief Justice of Pakistan, the committees will conduct interviews of shortlisted candidates before recommendations for judicial appointments are finalised.
Justice Aalia Neelum, the senior-most chief justice among the high courts, will serve as a member of all interview committees.
For appointments to the Lahore High Court and Islamabad High Court, Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi has been appointed chairman of the respective interview committees.
Meanwhile, Justice Aamir Farooq will chair the committees tasked with interviewing candidates for appointment to the Sindh High Court and Balochistan High Court.
The Judicial Commission has directed that all interviews be completed by July 4 so that the appointment process can proceed in accordance with established procedures.
The formation of the committees marks a key stage in the selection of new high court judges, aimed at filling vacancies and strengthening the administration of justice across the country.
