Pakistan Sets July 10 Deadline for Arrest of Illegal Afghan Nationals

The government has designated the operation as a "top priority" to ensure strict implementation across the country.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior has ordered a nationwide crackdown on illegally residing foreign nationals, directing authorities to begin the immediate arrest of Afghan citizens living in the country without valid visas or legal documentation from July 10, 2026.

According to an official notification, chief secretaries, inspectors general of police, and the Islamabad administration have been instructed to strictly implement the Illegal Foreigners Repatriation Plan (IFRP).

The notification further states that, starting July 11, provincial authorities will be required to submit daily reports on arrests and enforcement actions to the Ministry of Interior. The government has designated the operation as a “top priority” to ensure strict implementation across the country.
