William Agyapong Visits Pakistan GHQ to Strengthen Ghana-Pakistan Military Ties
Ghana & Pakistan – (Web Desk) – William Agyapong visits Pakistan GHQ marked a major step forward in defence ties between Ghana and Pakistan. Lieutenant General William Agyapong, Chief of Defence Staff of Ghana, called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi for a high-level meeting on military cooperation.
When the Ghanaian defence chief arrived at GHQ, he was welcomed with a Guard of Honour presented by a smartly turned-out Tri-Services contingent of the Pakistan Armed Forces.
During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of shared interest, regional security, and ways to deepen bilateral defence cooperation. They agreed to strengthen military-to-military ties with a clear focus on joint training, counter-terrorism, and defence production.
Lieutenant General Agyapong praised the Pakistan Armed Forces for their high level of professionalism and their positive role in promoting regional stability.

In a separate engagement, Abdul Razak Osman, National Security Coordinator of Ghana, met Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, at Naval Headquarters. He also called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, at Air Headquarters in Islamabad. Lieutenant General Agyapong was also present during these meetings.

The visits signal a growing and meaningful defence partnership between Ghana and Pakistan, covering key areas from training to industrial cooperation.
