Lodhran Sanitary Workers Death Sparks Safety Concerns
Lodhran – (Web Desk) – Two sanitary workers lost their lives in a shocking Lodhran sanitary workers death incident at Jalalpur Mor in Lodhran. The victims were identified as Waseem and Ikram, who fell into a manhole during a cleaning operation.
The tragic incident took place while both workers were performing routine sewage cleaning work. They fell into the manhole and could not be rescued in time, losing their lives on the spot.
Senior district officials responded quickly to the scene. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ashraf, Additional Deputy Commissioner Ali Gilani, and Assistant Commissioner Farrukhullah all arrived and personally inspected the site.
The district administration has now launched a formal investigation into the matter. Authorities are working to determine whether Waseem and Ikram were government employees or hired through a private contractor.
The tragedy has raised serious questions about the safety conditions faced by sanitary workers in Punjab. Many such workers carry out dangerous tasks daily without proper equipment or safety measures.
