Gilgit-Baltistan Manifesto Focuses on Infrastructure and Reforms

GILGIT: (Web Desk) – The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Sunday formally unveiled its manifesto for the 2026 Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly Elections 2026, outlining an ambitious agenda focused on development, governance reforms and constitutional rights for the region.

The manifesto was presented in Gilgit by Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman, the former chief minister and provincial president of PML-N Gilgit-Baltistan.

Among the key proposals, the party called for Gilgit-Baltistan’s inclusion in the National Finance Commission Award and an increase in the number of seats in the regional assembly to enhance representation and resource allocation.

The manifesto also promises a series of public welfare and infrastructure initiatives, including clean drinking water projects, the establishment of a women’s university and the creation of four new districts across the region.

In addition, the party has pledged judicial reforms, the development of an urban transit system and the holding of local government elections aimed at strengthening grassroots governance and public participation.

According to party officials, the document contains more than 50 proposed development projects spanning key sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare and administrative reform.

PML-N leaders described the manifesto as a comprehensive roadmap designed to improve public services, create new opportunities and accelerate socio-economic development in Gilgit-Baltistan ahead of the upcoming elections.
