Petition Seeks Restoration Of Ali Amin Gandapur As Chief Minister
Sher Afzal Marwat Challenges Gandapur Resignation In Federal Court
Islamabad: ( Web Desk) A petition has been submitted to the Federal Constitutional Court seeking the restoration of Ali Amin Gandapur as the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to reports on Thursday.
The petition was filed by Sher Afzal Marwat, who urged the court to declare Gandapur’s resignation unconstitutional, unlawful, and without legal standing. The petitioner argued that the de-notification of Ali Amin Gandapur violated constitutional provisions.
According to the plea, Gandapur’s resignation was allegedly obtained under pressure and influence, making it invalid in the eyes of the law. The petition further claimed that the resignation was secured on the instructions of a “convicted and disqualified individual,” though no specific name was mentioned in the filing.

The petitioner also requested the court to cancel the notification appointing Sohail Afridi as the new chief minister and restore Gandapur to the provincial office.
The application maintained that resignations obtained through coercion cannot be considered legitimate under constitutional principles and requested immediate judicial intervention from the Federal Constitutional Court.
