KARACHI: (Web Desk)- The Government of Sindh has announced early release of salaries and pensions for government employees and retirees ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, providing financial relief to thousands of families across the province.
According to an official notification issued by the Sindh Finance Department, all serving employees, pensioners, and eligible staff will receive their full May 2026 salaries, allowances, and pensions on May 20 instead of the usual payment date of June 1.
The decision has been taken in view of Eid-ul-Adha, which is expected to fall on May 27 or 28, 2026, subject to the sighting of the Zil Hajj moon. Authorities stated that the step aims to facilitate employees in managing Eid-related expenses without financial stress.
The notification further clarified that the early payment applies to all Muslim government employees, pensioners, as well as work-charged and contingent-paid staff across the province.

Officials said the directive has been circulated to all concerned departments for immediate implementation.
Eid-ul-Adha is observed on the 10th of Zil Hajj in the Islamic lunar calendar. According to experts, the Zil Hajj moon is expected to be born between May 16 and 17, and its sighting in Pakistan is highly likely on May 17, 2026.
The announcement has been widely welcomed as a relief measure for public sector employees ahead of the religious festival.
