ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has called for greater unity within the Muslim world, emphasizing peace, tolerance, and collective action to address global challenges faced by the Muslim Ummah.
He was addressing the sixth “Bunyan-un-Marsoos Conference” held under the banner of “Paigham-e-Pakistan” in Islamabad, where he described Islam as a religion rooted in moderation, mercy, and justice, guiding humanity toward compassion and unity.
Quoting the Holy Quran, he highlighted the importance of solidarity and collective strength, and referred to Pakistan’s past response to external aggression, stating that national unity and resilience, alongside the armed forces, played a key role in defending the country.
He praised the leadership of Shehbaz Sharif and Asim Munir for their contributions to economic stability, defense readiness, and diplomacy, saying these efforts have strengthened Pakistan’s regional standing.
On the issue of Kashmir, the AJK Prime Minister reaffirmed that the Kashmiri people continue their peaceful struggle for the right to self-determination, while condemning alleged human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He urged the international community, including the United Nations, to play a more active role in resolving the dispute in line with relevant resolutions.
He also strongly condemned the situation in Palestine, particularly developments around Al-Aqsa Mosque and ongoing violence in Gaza, expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people and calling for urgent international intervention to protect civilians.
Praising religious scholars and the Pakistan Ulema Council, he acknowledged their role in promoting Islam’s true message and urged them to expand their engagement through digital platforms to counter extremism and Islamophobia.
He stressed that education should go beyond academic degrees and focus on character-building, moral values, and responsible citizenship, warning that lack of guidance can lead to extremism, while proper education fosters positive thinking and social stability.

Calling for unity across different schools of thought, he said Islam promotes harmony and discourages division, while also urging the Muslim world to advance in science, technology, and education to safeguard its interests globally.
The conference also featured speeches from religious scholars, including Maulana Tahir Ashrafi, who described “Bunyan-un-Marsoos” as a symbol of unity and strength within the Muslim Ummah. Chairman Pakistan Baitul Mal Zamurrad Khan emphasized social welfare and support for underprivileged communities.
The event concluded with prayers for Pakistan’s stability, security, and the freedom of Kashmir, with participants from various religious and scholarly backgrounds attending the gathering.
