ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Lt Gen (r) Nazir Ahmed, has announced that Interpol has issued Red Notices against property tycoon Malik Riaz and his son Ali Riaz.
During a briefing on NAB’s performance, the chairman stated that Pakistani authorities had requested Interpol to issue Red Notices to locate and provisionally arrest the accused for possible extradition and legal proceedings. He added that a NAB team is being prepared to pursue their extradition.
Highlighting NAB’s recent performance, Nazir Ahmed revealed that the bureau achieved a record recovery of Rs 2.962 trillion in the first quarter of 2026—marking a 33-fold increase compared to the same period last year.

He further shared that NAB Karachi and Sukkur recovered over 54,000 acres of state land worth Rs 2.89 trillion, while NAB Lahore and Multan reclaimed more than 4,000 acres valued at Rs 23.33 billion. In Balochistan, over 51,000 acres of land worth Rs 36.54 billion were also recovered.
Additionally, Rs 1.78 billion was returned to 6,475 victims in fraud cases, while Rs 11.085 billion was recovered through plea bargains and fines. Authorities have also identified nearly 900,000 acres of government land in Punjab worth Rs 4.37 trillion and assets in Sindh valued at Rs 10.96 trillion, with task forces established for their recovery.
The NAB chairman emphasized that misuse of state land would be strictly addressed and all recovered assets would be deposited into the national treasury.
