China Warns Middle East Situation at Critical Juncture

Beijing Calls for Calm Amid Fragile Middle East Ceasefire

BEIJING: (Web Desk) – China has cautioned that the situation in the Middle East is at a sensitive turning point, urging all sides to avoid further escalation. The warning comes after Donald Trump announced an extension of the ceasefire to provide Iran additional time for negotiations.

Speaking at a press briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun described the region as being at a “critical juncture” between conflict and peace. He stressed that preventing a return to hostilities should remain the top priority for all stakeholders.

While Beijing did not directly comment on the ceasefire extension, officials reiterated that China would continue to play a constructive role in promoting dialogue and stability in the region.

The development follows Washington’s decision to delay the end of a two-week truce, even as uncertainty remains over Tehran’s response. Meanwhile, reports indicate that US pressure measures, including restrictions on Iran’s ports, are still in place.
