ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Lawyer Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry has once again written to the Superintendent of Adiala Jail regarding the legal documents of former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, raising concerns over delays and missing paperwork.
According to the letter, the power of attorney and related legal documents have been re-sent to jail authorities and are required to be signed and returned without further delay. The correspondence also references an earlier communication dated April 6, 2026.
The lawyer stated that the documents were initially dispatched through TCS on April 7 and confirmed as received at the jail office on April 9 at 3:13 pm. He further noted that he personally visited Gate No. 5 of Adiala Jail on April 13, where his arrival and purpose were formally recorded with both jail staff and police officials.

However, after waiting for several hours, he was informed that the documents were “not found in the record,” prompting concerns about administrative lapse and mishandling of sensitive legal files.
The letter describes the situation as a serious procedural failure that could obstruct legal proceedings and limit access to justice, particularly as the deadline for filing an appeal in the Supreme Court is approaching.
It further emphasizes that the jail authorities are responsible for ensuring a prisoner’s legal rights and timely access to documentation required for due process.
The lawyer has again forwarded a fresh set of documents along with the letter, requesting that they be signed by Imran Khan and returned within 24 hours on an urgent basis. Copies of the correspondence have also been sent to the Registrar of the Supreme Court, the Secretary to the Chief Justice, the IG Prisons Punjab, and other relevant authorities, including the Superintendent of Police Sadar Circle Rawalpindi.
